No, I'm not talking about the Immaculate Conception...
April Virginia Carr finally made her appearance on Dec. 6! I didn't go to the hospital with Lisa this time; I stayed with her three other girls at the house.
Despite a few hiccups, April was healthy and beautiful and home within a few days. My friend and co-worker, Andrew Davis, designed the "Hershey Bar" birth announcement (before they went "viral").
Her arrival and Dad's health concerns understandably kept us from our baking sheets for a while. I'm surprised we accomplished much at all this year.
Still, we couldn't resist one last session for golden Peanut Butter Cookies. We had all the ingredients we needed - a first in sister-bakedom! We were together, the baby was content, so we baked! We used the recipe in "Joy of Cooking" and cranked them out in no time.
Lisa knocked over a stack and a single; then I knocked over a raw tray-full! Despite our clumsiness, we managed a mega yield of 19 dozen.

Thank you for sharing this, I always love seeing pictures of me and things about me lol. Mom looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think you must have been the best early Christmas present she ever received! She looks beautiful because she was so happy. We all were - you were a sweet baby. You know, we went shopping that year on Black Friday (only time I ever did). She was a trooper! And she never missed a beat just because you decided to show up - just kept right on going and celebrating. Thanks for your comment. oxo
